What can be done if the person on the other end has difficulty hearing?

If the person being spoken to has difficulties hearing the agent, try adjusting the boom arm. This is particularly important when using a noise-cancelling microphone, which should be quite close to the mouth (approximately 2 cm/less than 1 inch).

What is the difference between Jabra GN2100 Micro Boom, Fix Boom and Flex Boom?

The Jabra GN2100 is available with 3 different types of microphone that differ in function and design as follows:

1. Jabra GN2100 Micro Boom

The Jabra GN2100 Micro Boom has a slim mouthpiece which has a standard microphone (comparable with the microphone in the telephone receiver). This is recommended mainly for small offices with up to 3 people or for quiet environments.

2. Jabra GN2100 Flex Boom

The Jabra GN2100 Flex Boom has a long flexible microphone arm with a NC (noise cancelling) microphone. This noise surpressing microphone prevents the transmission of bothersome background noise and ensures a clear, undisturbed communication. The Jabra GN2100 Flex Boom is best suited for large open-plan offices and call centers. The Jabra GN2100 Flex Boom is also available as an UNC (ultra noise cancelling) variant for very loud office environments and call centers.

3. Jabra GN2100 Fix Boom

The Jabra GN2100 Fix Boom has a long rigid microphone arm with a NC (noise cancelling) microphone. This noise surpressing microphone prevents the transmission of bothersome background noise and ensures a clear, undisturbed communication. The Jabra GN2100 Fix Boom is best suited for large open-plan offices and call centers. The Jabra GN2100 Fix Boom is also available as an UNC (ultra noise cancelling)variant for very loud office environments and call centers.

What is the difference between the labels LS, STD and HS with the Jabra GN2100?

The labels LS, STD and HS stand for the headset's microphone impedance.

For example you can find the following labels in the comparison list:

Callmaster III
 LS
 8813-20-01
 A/4

OptiPoint 500
 STD
 8800-00-01
 A/5

Octophon 86
 HS
 8800-00-03
 A/6

For direct connection without an amplifier, these telephones need different microphone transmission volumes to enable clear communication.

LS-Variation: Low Sensivity; the quietest microphone transmission of our headsets; it is used mainly on specific telephone devices with their own high amplification or on our headset amplifiers.

STD-Variation: Standard; the standard microphone is comparable to a normal telephone receiver and is used on most telephone devices.

HS-Variation: High Sensivity; our microphone with the highest transmission volume; it is often used with telephones that have a very low output volume and can thus replace these and be connected directly without an amplifier.

How do I assemble the headset or change wearing style?

Flexible earhook: To attach: Hold the earhook in one hand and the receiver in the other. Gently press the receiver into the earhook ring. To detach: Place both thumbs against the upper section of the receiver. Then gently press the receiver out of the earhook ring. Flexible earloop:To attach: Hold the earloop in one hand and the receiver in the other. Gently press the receiver into the earloop ring. To detach: Place both thumbs against the upper section of the receiver. Then gently press the receiver out of the earloop ring. Headband To attach: Hold the headband in one hand and the receiver in the other. Gently press the receiver into the headband ring. To detach: Place both thumbs against the upper section of the receiver. Then gently press the receiver out of the headband ring.

How is the Jabra GN2100 connected to a telephone?

There are three different ways to connect the Jabra GN2100 to a telephone:

1. Via an existing headset interface on the telephone:

A suitable connection cable (you can find this in the comparison list) and the Jabra GN2100 headset is all that is necessary for this. This is simply inserted into the headset port on your device and the quick decoupler (QD) is connected to the headset quick decoupler (QD).

2. Via the telephone receiver interface on your telephone with the telephone receiver/headset switch "DANA Switch"

A suitable connection cable, in addition to the switch "DANA Switch Art. No.:1600-719" is used for this connection, because this must be inserted into the telephone receiver of the telephone and the telephone receiver can then no longer be used. Therefore you can insert this in the selector switch and switch back and forth between the headset and telephone receiver.

 3. Via the telephone receiver interface in connection with a headset amplifier Jabra GN8000/8050/8210:

In this constellation a connection cable is not necessary, because this is supplied in the delivery of our amplifier. The connection itself takes place via the telephone receiver and is switched to the amplifier via the button.

How does a noise-cancelling microphone work?

The noise-cancelling microphone filters out unwanted background noise. It does so by differentiating between sounds that come from nearby sources, such as from the mouth, and those from far away, which are then eliminated. Because of this, it is important that the noise-cancelling microphone is positioned close to the mouth (approximately 2 cm/less than 1 inch).

What can be done if the agent has difficulty hearing?

If an agent has problems hearing the person on the other end of the line, try turning up the volume on the telephone or amplifier. If the problem persist, the agent should consider switching from a mono to a duo headset.
