Connection example: GN9120DG on Siemens SL1/SL100 and T-Sinus 701/711

     ------->

Please first check the base PIN code of your SL1/SL100 // T-Sinus 701/711 DECT telephone. This must be set to 0000 so that it corresponds to the preset PIN code of the GN 9120 DG.

Please press the >MENU button on you cell phone, then >Set base >System PIN

The base PIN code can now be changed if it is not already set on 0000.

Notice: The authentication code 0000 is already standard with many DECT telephones, therefore changing the code is probably unnecessary.

Now headset pairing can begin:

Switch the GN 9120 DG into register mode. Hold the three function buttons on the headset pressed down for 6 seconds until the online display on the headset begins to blink rapidly.

Now, hold the Paging button (silver button on the DECT telephone base) pressed down until the online display on the headset begins to blink. This process requires approx. 5 seconds and afterwards the headset is registered in the DECT base.

When you press the INT button on the telephone, you will now find an additional second INTernal line:

  >

INT 1 = Mobile telephone SL1/SL100 or T-Sinus 701/711

INT 2 = GN9120DG

The headset now rings automatically when the cell phone is called. You can answer this call and end it again with the multifunction button on the headset, or you can answer it normally on the DECT telephone and possibly connect it to the headset later.

The call can also be transferred from the cell phone to the headset with the INT button. For this, press the INT button during the call and select INT 2. Your GN9120DG will now ring and you can answer the call there with the multifunction button.

In order to make a call with the headset, you must first dial the number on the telephone and then connect the call to the headset, since you can not dial directly on the headset.

How can I operate my telephone and PC with only one headset

You need the GN DanaSelect for this. The GN DanaSelect serves as a switch between two terminals (original PC telephone switch; can also be used for two telephones or two PCs) that are operated by one headset.

The GN DanaSelect is supplied with the switch, a sound card cable and a telephone connection cable.

There is a switch on the GN DanaSelect that you can use to switch between the telephone and PC.

You can of course also connect the switch to the PC via our GN8110USB instead of the sound card cable. However, you also need the cable end piece GN 8800-00-01 for this because the GN8110USB has a QD coupling on the end and not the modular jack needed for the GN DanaSelect.

No, none of our Jabra products contains PCB, polychlorinated biphenyl.

My GN9120 cannot establish a wireless connection

Please check to see if the GN9120-xx-xx is completely charged. The charging time for the first installation is approx. 1.5 hours and this is displayed by a "constant" recharging light on the base station.

Please check which type of GN9120 you own. There are two different types:

1. GN 9120-xx-01 Standard
2. GN 9120-xx-11 EHS

GN9120-xx-01:

If the headset does not establish a wireless connection when you press the multifunction button, then you need to reregister the headset with the base station. For this, please place the headset on the base station. Correct placement is displayed by the "flashing" recharging symbol. Now remove the mains adapter from the wall socket and leave it unplugged for approx. 1 minute. After approx. 1 minute of waiting, plug the mains adapter back into the wall socket. 4 lights now need to be lit for approx. 3 seconds. The base station is then turned on again and starts charging.
{gnresource:HSS_GN9120-Basis-Leuchten-WG}  !!!IMPORTANT!!! The headset needs to be on the base station during registration.

A wireless connection will be established as soon as you remove the headset from the base station.

GN 9120-xx-11:

The GN9120-xx-11EHS has three types of software: DHSG-RHL-AEI. GN9120-xx-11 is always set to DHSG software when delivered.

With this type of software, a wireless connection is NOT possible without a telephone or correct connection to appropriate devices+equipment.

If the GN9120 is required for a non-DHSG compatible telephone device, then you need to change the headset over to RHL software so that a wireless connection can be established.
Please place the headset on the base station.
Then press the PLUS and MINUS buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds until the online display on the headset starts to flash.
Your current software is then displayed on the base. The wireless light stands for RHL; the MUTE light for DHSG and the recharge display for AEI. You now need to switch the software over from DHSG (mute light) to RHL (wireless symbol).
{gnresource:HSS_DHSG-AEI-RHL-Umschaltung-WG}
A wireless connection will now be established as soon as you take the headset off the station.
If you need to have the GN9120 in DHSG mode and a wireless connection cannot be established despite connection to the telephone, please check the individual settings using the 9120DHSG reports here on the FAQ page (e.g. electronic call answering on my Siemens OptiPoint does not work).

Why do I hear beeps in my headset?

A beep every 15 seconds means that the mute function is on. A beep every 10 seconds means that you are out of range (up to 100 m, depending on environment) of the headset’s base unit. Move closer to the base unit. A beep every 20 seconds means that the battery charge is low and needs to be recharged.

Which DECT telephones and/or DECT base stations can the Jabra GN9120 DG be registered on?

To be able to register the Jabra GN9120 DG, the DECT telephones/base stations must already have the system authentication code "0000".

If you do not know whether your telephone accepts this code, then look for detailed information in your telephone manual. This information can normally be found under "Registering/deregistering mobile devices". It explains how to register GAP compatible mobile devices and how to change the corresponding code.

New functions on the GN9120DG: making calls without transferring, and then sending them back to the cell phone

New function on the GN9120DG:

To AGFEO installations, even with small SIEMENS and T-Combase stations calls can be transferred to the headset by a single button click, and they can even be connected back to the cell phone again.

Requirements:

{gnresource:HSS_Siemens-SL100-WG}SIEMENS GIGASET starting at the SL100 Series (Base station only! e.g. SL1 alone not possible! )

{gnresource:HSS_T-Sinus711-WG}TELEKOM SINUS starting at the M 711 Series (Base station only! e.g. M 701 alone not possible! )

{gnresource:HSS_GN9120-Bild-WG}GN 9120 DG starting from March 2005 deliveries (SW 02/05)

( You can find a list of all the telephones that support this function at the end of this article

Settings:

The GN9120DG is registered to the base station by means of the paging button. (You can also find pairing information here in the online support)

Now activate "Int. switch on"

{gnresource:HSS_Siemens-SL1-Display-INT-zuschalten-WG}

You will find this under >Menu >Base setting >Special functions >Int. switch on

In order to confirm this function, the system PIN "0000" must be entered, after which a check is placed behind the Int. switch on.

Function:

The setting "internal switch on" is actually used for conferencing within the base station (up to 6 headsets) With this function, a second user is given the option to participate in a conference with just one touch of a button.

This special function operates with the GN9120DB as well! However, I can now only dial a number with the cell phone. While the DECT telephone is dialling, press the multifunction button on the headset once and you will have the dial tone automatically in the GN9120DG.

{gnresource:HSS_GN9120-Funkaufbau-ohneBasis-WG}

Now put down the cell phone and you can make your call with the headset.

If this call is not for you (e.g. in a doctors practice) or you need to transfer it to someone else, then you can connect it back to the DECT telephone from the headset. To do this you need only press the "anwer the call" button on your mobile unit {gnresource:HSS_Siemens-SL1-Annahme-Taste-WG} and you have the call back to the SL1, for example. End the call by pressing the multifunction button on the headset.

Of course you can also use the DECT telephone's conference function with the GN9120DG and you have the ability to to hold a conference in up to 5 headsets and one cordless phone.

Important:: The dial tone signal in the headset is transmitted only when standard ringtones are used on your telephone. No "call signalling" for mp3-ringtones

I have set up my Jabra GN9125 correctly, but I am getting a buzzing sound on my headset.

Your telephone may not be fully immune to the radio transmission between your headset and base. To
overcome this problem, move the base at least 30 cm/12” away from the phone. If you have a European
version, you can instead choose to set the headset to Low Power mode.

What is GAP?

GAP (Generic Access Profile)

The GAP standard is supported by most modern DECT systems and is used to register external mobile devices. If you do not know whether your DECT telephone complies with this standard, you can look it up in the manual supplied with your telephone.

How does the conference switch operate on the GN9120?

A conference circuit on the GN9120 needs a GN9120-xx-01/11 and at least one more headset (maximum 4 headsets simultaneously on one station). These can also be ordered individually with a separate charging station. (Single headset: 91xx-01 // Charging station: 9160-01)

+  +

Remove the headset from the base station and place a call.

This headset is now the "Master headset" and controls the conference.

Now place the second headset in the base station during the call. All signal lights are displayed on the base for approx. 5 seconds. Afterwards the recharging display will blink for the duration of the charging, and the wireless symbol for as long as the master headset connection remains established.

(The red "mute" light goes out after approx. 5 sec)

After this process, remove the second headset from the station. A simple signal tone can be heard in the headset and this is acknowledged by pressing the multifunction button once.

 (press once)

The second headset is now in the conference. The second participant can now leave the conference by pressing the multifunction button once or the master headset can completely end the conference by pressing the multifunction button once.

If a second headset from an existing station was used, then this headset is automatically connected back to its original base station when the conference ends.

TIP:

This switching to conference can take place even without a telepone or PC, as what is known as the "Walkie Talkie function." This is how the GN9120 enables a conference of up to 4 participants within a 150 m range; however, the connection to the master headset must be maintained, because if this ends the connection, then they will all need to be re-established.

How do I reset the memory?

When the battery is removed or the power adapter is unplugged (for at least a few seconds), all
customised headset settings are returned to factory-set default settings.
