How to enable auto-link for softphones without the option for Remote Call Control on Jabra PRO 9400?

From Service Pack 1 for Value Pack 2 (released 29.03.11) a new softphone type is added to the touch-screen setup guide. And from Jabra PC Suite version 2.4.3.0 a new softphone setting is added. Selecting “Generic softphone”, will enable users to open/close a ”Communication Link” link on the answer/end button on headset or touch screen, as well as get audio automatically when using the ”Open link when headset is undocked” setting in Jabra PC Suite.

Technical explanation of the Intellitone settings on the new product

For example, what does 0-4 hours mean? Does it average out the sound or does it just stop the peaks at certain levels?

According to the standards the SPL (sound Pressure Level) during a full working day (8h) should be less than
85dBA.

This is in the Jabra PRO & GO products realized by having an Auto Volume algorithm running in IntelliTone Level 1..3(4).

For the Level 3 the SPL is set such that it will not exceed 85dBA. Depending on the user volume setting the Auto

Volume function will regulate the received Audio (a.k.a. RX) such that the long time average speech energy is constant. At highest volume step, this target level will be ca. 85dBA.

For Level 1 & 2 where a lower amount of hours can be specified the target level is adjusted according to how much the user is exposed during this period. I.e. to fulfill the 85dBA over a 8h working day corresponds to 3dB higher level over a 4h duration. I.e. the SPL can be set higher for setting 1 (0-4h) and Level 2 (4-8h) due to this and still fulfill the 85dBA requirement.

Nortel 11xx series connection to Jabra PRO™ 9400 Series

Connecting the Jabra Pro 9400 series to USB port of the Nortel 1120 and 1140 no audio was received. 
Nortel only supports Jabra GN9300e series (standard version). No other Jabra headset will work.

No, only Jabra GO 6400 supports fast charging.

Mac/Apple test on Jabra GO & Jabra PRO

Jabra GO 6470 and Jabra PRO 9470 have been tested on Mac Book, OS 10.4.1. USB audio, TX/RX works fine, i.e. via Skype.
The great thing is the auto-audio-link, so although you do not have EHS on Skype with a Mac, the audio link
opens automatically when Skype call is initiated.
As always on Mac, you manually have to change audio setting before the audio is handled correctly.
